ISO 21001:2018 is the first International Management System Standard. It provides a common management tool for organizations providing educational products and services capable of meeting learners’ and other beneficiaries’ requirements.

• It Focuses on the management systems of educational organizations and the impact these on learners and other relevant interested parties.
• It can be implemented along with other standards/documents.
• Applies to any organization that uses a curriculum for the development of competence, irrespective of type, size, or method of delivery.
• This Standard aims to standardize or prioritise the education management system.
• It is based on ISO 9001 Quality Management System, but it provides a specific framework for educational organizations.
• It intends to help educational providers meet students’ requirements and needs.
• Enhance the specification of their learners by improving the educational processes.

This standard focuses on the specific interaction between an educational organization, the learner, and other customers. Current educational processes are becoming increasingly focused on co-creation where the traditional customer-supplier relationship is refined into a collaborative partnership. This standard will give guidance on how to deliver quality in this challenging new environment.
